Aioli can mean a lot of things to a lot of people, but in reality? It’s just fancy mayonnaise. This Spicy Aioli is one of my favorites.
No matter who makes it, or how they make it, the emulsion of egg, oil, and spices ends with the same result: a creamy dip perfect for any protein. Make it a little lighter? It’s delicious to drizzle.
The bottom line is that aioli is really just an upscale moniker for a mayo-style sauce that can be considered fancy, but is really just regular fare. The best takeaway, though, is that you, too, can look fancy if you can throw together this aioli for your next get-together.
What is Spicy Aioli?
Spicy aioli is literally just a punched up mayo. When you see aioli at your local restaurant don’t think they’re fancy – this is just amped up mayonnaise.
It is so easy to make and it’s just the quickest way to get a killer condiment on the table without any fuss. Take some mayo, throw some great spices in, mix together… and? Voila! You have a serious sauce that seems like it took forever, but it’s really just a fast fix so you can make the best meal.
